EVALUATION
To conclude I believe my project went as good as I aimed it to be. Of course, I could've done better with certain elements of the project such as the planning and using my time wisely, but tasks like my print-based section stood out and really showed what I was trying to convey.
For my ideas section, I believe I could have done so much better. I a minimum of 2 ideas per task in the project because my ideas were so detailed. Even to the point where I even began creating them and then changing my idea. Maybe if I was more broad with my ideas. But because I had such a big idea in my head I just didn't want any more ideas. I know could have done a lot better with my ideas but nonetheless, my final piece was exactly how I wanted it.
My planning was not great as well. I knew I could have planned my time better and that could have been because I did not have a properly structured schedule. When you have a structured schedule you know when to do things, I didn't do that. Also, the storyboard was very weak, It didn't show what I wanted to do because I find it so difficult to show on paper what I am doing. So to get better at this section I need to make sure I time my work better and properly structure it out and how I can do this is by really delving into how and when I will do sections of this project. The problem with planning is that my surveys didn't give me enough information about what people know about the brand. For my next project i need more people to do the survey to really get a feel about what it is.
PRODUCTION
The production advertorial video was one of the most important sections of the project. I needed to make a 30-second advert about whatever product we were selling. In my case, this was the Adidas x palace trainer. Making sure the advert was in 30 seconds was vital because if you are actually making that advert in real life you need to make sure you make that time.
So to start off with my production I researched many videos and posters into palace, I really wanted to understand the true meaning behind the brand, why, how and when. When I looked into palace I noticed a common theme and that was they always add in a little hint in their videos or whatever. So because of this, I knew it only seemed right that I did it myself, I wasn't sure what to add into the video because conveying secret messages inst that easy so I stuck with an easy one and that kept a recurring colour in the video and that was the colour of my trainer. The reason why I did this is that it's all linking together which shows the audience if they see a different banner that I also designed, they instantly know it's about that trainer advert they saw. The only issue behind conveying an image is maybe i didn't show the audience enough of what the trainer is like, but this could be argued by saying this is what palace videos are. They are so random and unique it is almost so hard to understand what they are actually trying to sell and linking back to my idea that is what I was trying to sell. An advert that represented a palace product but to the whole audience.
The video went very well in my opinion. Linking to my research I looked into palace adverts and how detailed the editing is. They over edit so many of their videos and that's exactly what I did. I needed to make it so bad it almost good. There was so much going on when I showed some people they were quite shocked by the 30-second clip they just saw. But that is what I was trying to do. Instead of boring people I added so much color but not to the point, it is actually just a mess but to the level of a palace, the advert would do it. But once again maybe I would show more of the trainer instead of just really good footage by itself because that's what makes a good advert, a good level between good footage and that hint of the actual product. So for my next project, I need to understand the balance between really detailed editing and also showing that this is actually a trainer advert.
But to conclude my production I am happy with the outcome, there are certain elements such as the detail of editing which I am happy about. I really am passionate about making sure the work looks at a good level and I believe I achieved that in this. But we cannot hide the fact that I should have shown more of the trainer its self. But the reason why I did that is what Palace does, showing hints in the video, not just the trainer.

RESEARCH
For my research, I looked into the videos, billboards and even other adverts that other companies do. I started off with analysing two adverts, the first was the John Lewis man on the moon advert, the reason why analysed this advert is because I wanted to see how adverts show and represent an emotion. And how I did this was by looking into the websites and seeing what people had to say about the advert. Because it is such a powerful advert it has so many opinions and reviews. So not only could I get an idea of what people think of the video but also how it spread emotion. This had no relation to m,y video whatsoever but it's such a good advert to see how to present emotion.
I then looked at the Palace adverts. This was very successful because it really helped me understand how Palace convey their videos. I knew already knew what Palace is about and what their videos are like but I needed to really analyse and take everything. I could have looked at the behind of scenes of some of their videos to see what the sets are like but i didn't do that.
In my research, I also finalised my target audience which is 15-20. Target audience is a huge part of the project, you need to a big understanding of who you are selling the product to. I found this hard because Adidas obviously has a target audience for everyone whereas Palace, on the other hand, has a specific target audience. So I really analysed why I need a specific target audience. I aimed for 15-20 for mine as it seemed right. I should have possibly looked into more about the target audience to really understand what I have done and to do that could have been things like surveys and questionnaires. My research went okay, I knew I could have done much better so I could really get a strong idea on what to do but like I've stated I had an idea and I struggle to put on paper.
To conclude my research I made sure I looked into the right things, but know I didn't look enough. I could've analysed so much more make my advert more detailed and more like a palace advert.
